flydubai Expands its Network with Inaugural Flights to Cairo and Poznań

Flydubai, located in Dubai, reached a crucial milestone on October 29 when it began operations in Cairo and Pozna.

Dubai-based carrier flydubai marked a significant milestone on October 29 by commencing operations in Cairo and Poznań. 

The inaugural flights to Sphinx International Airport (SPX) and Poznań Airport (POZ) received a warm welcome, complete with a water cannon salute. flydubai is the first airline from the UAE to operate direct flights to these destinations.

The addition of flights to Cairo and Poznań further expands flydubai’s network in Egypt, which already includes Alexandria and Cairo, and Poland, where it serves Krakow, Poznań, and Warsaw.

CEO’s Perspective:

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, expressed pride in the airline’s expanding network, highlighting that they have introduced more than 20 destinations since the beginning of 2023, bringing their network to over 120 destinations spanning Italy to Malaysia. 

He emphasized flydubai’s commitment to strengthening air links from the UAE to underserved markets via Dubai’s aviation hub, contributing to regional economic growth and facilitating trade and tourism.

Operations to Cairo:

Sudhir Sreedharan, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Flydubai, emphasized Egypt’s significance as a market. 

The new daily service to Cairo provides passengers with direct access to the city through the convenience of Sphinx International Airport. 

Sreedharan expressed confidence that passengers would enjoy the enhanced comfort of the Business and Economy cabins on the airline’s newest aircraft serving the route.

Expansion to Poznań:

Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce at Flydubai, highlighted the airline’s growth in passenger figures for Poland and the increasing travel demand. 

With the launch of flights to Poznań, flydubai now serves three destinations in Poland, offering convenience to travelers.

Poznań’s Perspective:

Grzegorz Bykowski, Vice-President of the Poznań-Ławica Airport Authority, described flydubai’s direct flights from Poznań to Dubai as a milestone in the airport’s network development. 

The new connection brings travel opportunities to residents of Poznań, Greater Poland, and the entire western Poland region, connecting them to Dubai and Flydubai’s extensive network of over 115 destinations in 54 countries. 

The collaboration between the airport and the Poznań Local Tourist Organization is expected to introduce Poznań as an attractive tourist destination to UAE passengers.
