In 2007, Mahdi made a life-changing decision. He stepped back from his role as a Regional Branch Manager at Allianz Saudi Fransi in Saudi Arabia—a prestigious post—to take on a position as a Senior Business Development Manager at AXA Gulf in Abu Dhabi. Many might have seen this as a step down. But for Mahdi, it was a leap of faith toward something greater. “I believed it would be a determining moment filled with opportunity,” he reflects. And he was right. This choice became the launchpad for a career that would soon be marked by innovation and transformation.
Understanding the Gaps in Healthcare
Being a seasoned insurer, Mahdi spent a significant part of his career understanding the payer side of the healthcare ecosystem. However, he began to notice a disconnect—a misalignment between the 3 P’s: payer, provider, and patient. Having experienced the healthcare system as a patient himself, Mahdi felt compelled to make a deeper impact. He realized that meaningful change could only happen by addressing healthcare delivery from all perspectives, a realization that pushed him toward a new frontier: telehealth.

Mahdi joined TruDoc, a leading telehealth provider in the Middle East, where he played a pivotal role in transforming how healthcare is delivered in the region. Through digital and hybrid solutions, he helped bridge the gap between payers and patients, offering accessible, efficient, and value-driven care. Under Mahdi’s leadership, TruDoc quickly became the largest telehealth provider in the region by the number of subscribed members. His focus was not just on growth, but on impact—using technology to offer real, measurable improvements in patient care and cost-effectiveness for insurers. This accomplishment didn’t just disrupt the healthcare industry—it redefined it.
Climbing the Ladder with Integrity
Mahdi’s professional climb is a testament to hard work, ethics, and staying grounded. He started as an insurance clerk, gradually climbing the corporate ladder without ever asking for a promotion. Every role he held was earned through dedication, discipline, and results. At one point in his journey, he became the youngest Country Manager in one of the world’s largest insurance groups—a rare achievement in a highly competitive industry. In this role, he oversees business development and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), with a strong focus on creating sustainable partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem. He aims to push the envelope by driving transparency, ethical practices, and outcome-focused care in a sector that is often burdened by commercial pressure.
