The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts fair weather today, accompanied by occasional clouds. However, residents in the UAE woke up to thick fog, prompting red and yellow alerts from the NCM. Motorists are cautioned about reduced visibility until 10 am today.
Traffic Alerts and Speed Limit Reductions:
In response to the foggy conditions, the Abu Dhabi Police took precautionary measures by reducing the speed limit on certain roads. The speed limit is set at 80 km/hr on Abu Dhabi – Al Ain Road (Zayed Military City – Sweihan), (Al Khtam – Rimah), Al Ain (Rumah – Al Khazna) road, and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Road (Masaken – Al-Faqaa).
Dubai Police Advises Caution and Reduced Speeds:
Dubai Police warned motorists, urging them to stay focused, reduce speed, and maintain a safe distance on the road. Fog is causing low visibility on the city’s internal and external routes.
As the day progresses, low clouds will appear over the eastern region by the afternoon, accompanied by a slight temperature decrease. Weather conditions are anticipated to become more humid by night and Friday morning, with the possibility of fog or mist forming in coastal and internal areas.
Wind and Sea Conditions:
Light to moderate winds are forecasted, with the sea expected to be slight to medium in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
Temperature Range Across the Country:
The lowest temperature is predicted to drop to 8ºC in mountainous areas, while the highest temperature is expected to reach 30ºC in internal regions of the country. Stay updated on weather conditions and exercise caution while traveling during reduced visibility.
