In a heartwarming surprise for his Indian fans, Hollywood actor Vin Diesel recently took to social media to share a throwback picture featuring himself and his “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” co-star, Deepika Padukone. The unseen photo was captured during their promotional visit to India back in 2017, marking Deepika’s debut in Hollywood.
The image portrays a candid moment where Vin Diesel is seen assisting Deepika with her coat, with the film’s director, DJ Caruso, seated in the background within an auto-rickshaw.
Reflecting on his memorable trip to India, Vin Diesel penned a heartfelt message accompanying the photo. He reminisced about his promise to Deepika to visit India alongside their director, DJ Caruso. Moreover, Vin shared a touching revelation about his eldest daughter, Hania, being deeply moved by a script sent to him by Caruso.
Vin Diesel wrote, “When I think about the amount of directors that have wanted to work with me more than once, I am always just humbled. This is a pic of when I went to India as I promised Deepika I would, with the director at the time, DJ Caruso… While we are currently juggling the order of the productions, my oldest daughter read the script that DJ sent to me, thinking that it would fall into the Pacifier bracket. She cried… I asked her why she cried, and she said because the story of a brother and sister rang true for her and it was emotional.”
The actor further hinted at his busy schedule, mentioning various projects like “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em,” “Mattel’s Follow up to Barbie,” “Universal’s Kojak,” “Witch Hunter,” “Riddick4,” and the final installment of the “Fast” series, all vying for his attention. He also posed an intriguing question to his followers, asking for suggestions on who should play the role of his sister in the emotional script that resonated with his daughter.
Deepika Padukone, who is expecting her first child, is gearing up for her next project, the sci-fi action thriller film titled “Kalki 2898 AD.” Co-starring alongside south actor Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan, the film is set to hit theaters on May 9, 2024.
Meanwhile, Deepika’s husband, actor Ranveer Singh, is set to reprise his role as Simmba in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama “Singham Again.” The star-studded cast also includes Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Additionally, Ranveer is slated to headline Farhan Akhtar’s “Don 3,” scheduled for release in 2025.
Vin Diesel’s nostalgic post not only reignited fond memories from their promotional tour but also showcased the enduring bond shared between co-stars. Fans of both actors were delighted to catch a glimpse of this behind-the-scenes moment, reminiscing about the time when Hollywood and Bollywood collided on the silver screen.
As the entertainment industry continues to bridge cultural boundaries, such heartwarming interactions serve as a reminder of the universal language of cinema, bringing people together across continents and generations.
