Recent statistics reveal a concerning trend, as 894 private companies have been identified attempting to circumvent Emiratisation regulations since their implementation in 2022. The announcement came from officials on Wednesday, shedding light on 1,267 cases of falsified Emiratisation attempts.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation unveiled strict measures against offending companies, declaring their ineligibility for financial benefits under the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council programme. 

These measures serve as a punitive response to hiring practices that undermine the Emiratisation initiative.

Unveiling False Emiratisation: Fabricated Cases and Penalties

Instances of false Emiratisation include hiring family members without genuine roles and forging employment records via illicitly acquired work permits under the names of UAE citizens. The ministry outlined penalties for such violations, with fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh100,000 per case.

Downgrading and Financial Implications: Repercussions for Offending Companies

Companies found in breach of Emiratisation regulations face downgrading within the private sector classification system, compelling them to bear increased service fees for work permits and transfers. 

This downgrade translates to elevated costs, as companies now encounter a substantial rise in fees from Dh250 to Dh3,750 for specific permits.

Nafis Program and Emiratisation Objectives: A Drive Towards Citizen Employment

The Nafis program, initiated in September 2021, aims to secure 10% of private sector jobs for citizens by the culmination of 2026, marking a significant milestone in the broader Emiratisation initiative.
