The UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has suspended the licences of 153 employers, levying fines on them due to instances where their registered domestic workers were found employed by others.
This action follows joint inspection campaigns conducted over the past two months, a collaboration between MoHRE and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security.
Consequences for Non-Compliant Employers
Employers found in breach face severe administrative penalties, including the suspension of new domestic worker permits.
Additionally, these non-compliant employers risk referral to the Public Prosecution, potentially leading to legal and financial actions against them. Penalties may amount to fines reaching AED 50,000 ($13,600).

The joint efforts aimed at inspecting non-compliant workers across the UAE signify the authorities’ commitment to ensuring adherence to employment regulations and protecting the rights of domestic workers.
