Fostering Space Exploration Enthusiasm:

The UAE’s space centre has unveiled the Space Science Research Programme, a pioneering initiative targeting Emirati undergraduates set to graduate in 2024.

The program aims to integrate students into the National Space Programme, enhancing their skills and nurturing interest in space sciences.

Target Audience and Focus Areas:

Designed for students in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) disciplines, the 10-week programme will commence in the upcoming summer at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) in Dubai.

Participants will engage in virtual or in-person sessions, focusing on research in Earth sciences, human health in space, protein crystallography in space, and engineering.

Comprehensive Learning Experience:

To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, students will undergo a boot camp, providing insights into the chosen topics and introducing them to their mentors.

The initiative aims to bridge the gap between academia and practical space-related research.

Registration Deadline and Youth Empowerment:

Interested university students have until January 30, 2024, to register for the Space Science Research Programme.

Adnan Al Rayes, Assistant Director General for Space Operations and Exploration, emphasized the program’s broader goal of empowering the youth and contributing to the UAE’s advancements in space exploration and scientific progress.

The initiative aligns with the nation’s commitment to investing in its youth for a brighter and more innovative future.
