Overview of Grants:

The UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science (UAEREP) is gearing up to allocate grants in its latest cycle, with each recipient set to receive up to $1.5 million over three years. The grants aim to fortify water security through innovative rain enhancement projects.

Selection Process:

The cycle saw 64 researchers, scientists, and experts affiliated with 35 institutions across 10 countries, including the UAE, submitting eight proposals. 

The proposals underwent rigorous evaluation by global experts in weather modification, cloud physics, hydrometeorology, and artificial intelligence.

Upcoming Announcement:

The winners of this fifth grant cycle will be revealed in Abu Dhabi on January 23, highlighting the UAE’s dedication to advancing environmental sustainability and bolstering water security, as stated by Dr. Abdulla Al Mandous, Director General of the National Centre of Meteorology and President of the World Meteorological Organisation.
