UAE Sends Fifth Plane of Ramadan Relief Aid to Chad
The UAE has once again demonstrated its commitment to humanitarian efforts by dispatching a fifth plane loaded with over 36 tonnes of aid and supplies to the Republic of Chad. This latest delivery, which occurred on Sunday, marks a significant contribution to ongoing relief efforts in the region.
Supervised by the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, the aid programme aims to assist families of Sudanese refugees residing in Chad, as well as the local population in the northern city of Amdjarass and its surrounding areas. The provision of essential supplies during the holy month of Ramadan is crucial in alleviating the hardships faced by vulnerable communities.
The aid shipment includes more than 6,000 Ramadan baskets, each containing vital food items such as dates, rice, flour, sugar, oils, grains, baby milk, and other necessities. These provisions are tailored to meet the nutritional needs of families experiencing food insecurity during Ramadan, a time of heightened spirituality and charitable giving.
Additionally, an Emirati aircraft carrying approximately 20 tonnes of relief supplies, generously provided by the Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, arrived at Amdjarass Airport. Among the supplies were 500 relief bags containing essential humanitarian items, aimed at further alleviating the suffering of impoverished families during the holy month.
The collaborative efforts between the UAE and local authorities in Amdjarass have already made a significant impact, with over 6,000 poor families across various neighborhoods benefiting from the initiative. This collective endeavor underscores the UAE’s commitment to extending assistance to those in need, both within its borders and beyond.
Furthermore, the UAE’s humanitarian efforts extend beyond the provision of aid supplies. The country continues to host patients and elderly individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds at its field hospital in Chad, ensuring access to essential healthcare services for those who require them most.
The ongoing support provided by the UAE reflects its unwavering commitment to promoting global solidarity and addressing humanitarian challenges, particularly in regions affected by conflict and displacement. By extending a helping hand to vulnerable communities in Chad, the UAE reaffirms its status as a beacon of compassion and empathy on the world stage.
In conclusion, the UAE’s fifth plane of Ramadan relief aid to Chad underscores the nation’s dedication to alleviating suffering and fostering resilience in communities facing adversity. Through strategic partnerships, targeted interventions, and sustained efforts, the UAE continues to make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need, embodying the spirit of compassion and solidarity.
