UAE Ministry of Human Resources Cracks Down on Fake Emiratisation Violations

In a recent announcement, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) revealed that 1202 private companies have been caught engaging in ‘Fake Emiratisation’, unlawfully hiring 1963 nationals. These violations were uncovered during inspections conducted from mid-2022 to March 14, 2024, raising concerns about attempts to circumvent national employment targets and undermine Emiratisation efforts in the private sector.

To address these infringements, MoHRE has levied significant fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh100,000 for each case of Fake Emiratisation. Additionally, offending companies may face referrals to the Public Prosecution, depending on the severity of their actions.

MoHRE has taken further steps to rectify the situation, including the recovery of benefits previously granted to violators and the cessation of Nafis benefits. These measures underscore the ministry’s commitment to enforcing Emiratisation policies and ensuring compliance with national employment standards.

Emphasizing the importance of upholding the law, MoHRE reiterated its determination to address harmful practices that undermine Emiratisation commitments. The ministry affirmed that such actions will be dealt with firmly, in line with established legal protocols.
