Regulation change means teachers can apply for a free two-year permit and generate extra income.
Facilitating Educational Support
In a joint announcement by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of Education, a new Private Teacher Work Permit has been unveiled in the UAE.
This initiative empowers educators in private schools to offer personalized tuition outside regular school hours, aiming to enhance students’ learning experiences and regulate private tutoring.
Regulating Private Tuition
The newly introduced permit is designed to facilitate specialized and qualified professionals in providing private lessons for students, either individually or in groups.
This initiative targets teachers registered in government or private schools, government and private sector employees, unemployed individuals, as well as school and university students aged 15 to 18.
Combatting Illegal Practices
An integral aspect of this initiative is its role in combating illegal and unregulated private tuition. Muhammad Al Mualla, undersecretary for Academic Affairs in the Ministry of Education, highlighted the significance of this permit in curbing unlawful practices that may impact the overall learning process.
Enhancing Educational Standards
By introducing a structured framework for private tutoring, the UAE aims to maintain educational standards and ensure that students receive quality education beyond regular classroom settings. The permit intends to elevate the learning experience while creating a regulated environment for private teaching.
