The UAE Food Bank, operating under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, has launched a new community-focused campaign titled Preserving the Blessing in Our Neighborhood. Designed to bring sustainability closer to everyday life, the initiative places neighborhoods at the heart of responsible food practices, encouraging residents to donate surplus food, reduce waste, and embrace mindful consumption as a shared social responsibility.
Hosted at Quranic Park in Dubai, the initiative reflects a growing national effort to translate humanitarian values into practical, community-led action. By engaging residents directly where they live and gather, the program seeks to normalize food preservation habits while strengthening social bonds and compassion-driven giving.

More than 150 volunteers play an active role in making the initiative work on the ground. Their responsibilities range from registering food donations and organizing surplus inventory to preparing food baskets and assisting with cooked meal coordination. Volunteers also help facilitate educational and awareness workshops that explain the environmental and social impact of food waste, making the issue relatable and actionable for families and individuals alike.
