In a recent development, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued Decree No. (16) of 2024, forming the new Board of Trustees for the UAE Food Bank. The decree appoints Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum as the Supreme Chairperson of the Bank. This decision underscores the UAE’s commitment to addressing food security issues and ensuring efficient management of the Food Bank’s operations.

The newly formed Board of Trustees will play a crucial role in guiding the strategic direction of the UAE Food Bank. Alongside Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, the Director General of Dubai Municipality will serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Board. Additionally, the Board will consist of representatives from various entities, including the Community Development Authority in Dubai, the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation in Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, the Government of Dubai Media Office, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, and the Food and Beverage Manufacturing Group. The CEO of the UAE Food Bank will also be a member of the Board.
