A 36-week pregnant Palestinian woman named Soumiya, accompanied by her one-and-a-half-year-old son Fati Ala, arrived in Abu Dhabi on a special flight from Egypt’s El Arish International Airport. 

Soumiya, bearing leg injuries, and her son, who suffered severe burns, expressed immense relief upon their arrival at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Gratitude for Safety and Hope for Treatment:

Expressing her relief and gratitude, Soumiya emphasized the safety of her children as the foremost priority. 

She conveyed her hope for receiving essential treatment and extended heartfelt thanks to the leadership, medical professionals, volunteers, and all involved in facilitating their journey to safety and medical care.

Humanitarian Efforts of UAE Hospitals:

The arrival of Soumiya and other patients marked the success of the first mission, involving hospitals like Burjeel Medical City (BMC), NMC Healthcare, and Sheikh Khalifa Medical City under the SEHA network. 

Dr. Zainul Aabideen, a consultant specializing in pediatric hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplant at BMC, highlighted the effective teamwork and leadership support in ensuring the success of this mission.

Commitment to Humanitarian Aid and Medical Care:

Addressing the emotional and physical needs of the patients, Dr. Aabideen emphasized the trauma faced by children who lost their parents in the bombings and stressed the essential emotional and medical care they require. 

Moreover, in a significant humanitarian gesture, President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a directive to bring 1,000 Palestinian cancer patients for treatment to UAE hospitals, building upon an earlier decision to provide medical care to 1,000 Palestinian children and their families.
