Violations committed before November 1 are also eligible for deduction.
Generous Initiative: 50% Reduction in Traffic Fines
In honor of the UAE National Day, the Umm Al Quwain Police have announced a remarkable initiative—a 50% reduction in select traffic fines.
This celebratory gesture extends over 38 days, from December 1 to January 7. Notably, even traffic offenses committed before November 1 are eligible for this reduction, as confirmed by officials.
Scope of the Initiative: Exclusions and Eligibility
While embracing the spirit of the 52nd National Day celebrations, the reduced rates apply to various traffic offenses committed within the emirate. However, certain violations are exempt from this reduction.
Offenses such as dangerous driving behaviors (posing threats to life or property, jumping red lights, and excessive speeding over 80 kilometers above the limit) remain ineligible.
Additionally, vehicles with unauthorized modifications to their engine or chassis are not included in the fine reduction.
Ras Al Khaimah Joins In: Similar Initiative for Public Violations
In tandem with these efforts, Ras Al Khaimah has launched a parallel scheme to mark the National Day celebrations. The Department of Public Services in Ras Al Khaimah is offering a parallel 50% reduction in fines for public violations throughout the month of December.
These initiatives not only commemorate the UAE National Day but also serve as a testament to the commitment of authorities in promoting road safety and responsible driving habits among the community.
