From December 1 to 3, 2023, a temporary traffic rerouting on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Abu Dhabi will occur from 7 am to 11 am. This measure coincides with the UAE’s Union Day celebrations and COP28.
The Dubai Media Office announced the diversion, spanning from the Trade Centre Roundabout to the Expo Intersection.
RTA’s Traffic Plan for Smooth Flow during Celebrations:
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has devised a comprehensive traffic plan to ensure seamless movement.
Alternative routes include Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road, Emirates Road, Al Khail Road, Jumeirah Road, Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road.
RTA strongly recommends the use of public transportation during the diversion period. Motorists should follow directional signage and smart screen updates for traffic diversions and alternative routes.
Transportation Facilitation for COP28 Delegates:
During COP28 at Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12, RTA will offer transportation services across the Blue Zone for authorized delegations and the Green Zone for businesses and the public. Various transit modes like Dubai Metro, Dubai Bus, and taxis will be utilized.
Special edition Nol cards have been introduced for COP28 delegates, granting them free access to public transportation throughout the conference.
This initiative aims to ensure convenient mobility management and facilitate hassle-free travel for participants.
