Tips for Getting to the World’s Largest Tech Exhibition in Dubai

The 43rd edition of Gitex Global, the world's largest technology and startup exhibition, will be held in Dubai, bringing thousands of people.

Dubai is preparing to host the 43rd edition of Gitex Global, the world’s largest technology and startup exhibition, attracting thousands of visitors.

To make the most of this five-day event from October 16 to 20, here are some practical tips on reaching the venue and enjoying the technology extravaganza.

Opt for the Dubai Metro:

One of the most efficient ways to reach the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) is by taking the driverless Dubai Metro.

The Metro offers direct access to the venue and is well-connected to various modes of land transportation, including buses, taxis, and private vehicles. Commuters are also permitted to bring foldable bikes and e-scooters onboard.

Park-and-Ride for Drivers:

For those who prefer driving, leaving their vehicles behind and using the Metro is advisable.

Parking areas are available at the Centrepoint Metro Station, Etisalat Metro Station, Jebel Ali Metro Station, or the multi-story parking building near Max Station (formerly Al Jafiliya) in the Al Kifaf area.

The Dubai Metro boasts a remarkable punctuality rate of 99.7% and surpasses international safety standards.

To streamline your Metro journey, purchase or top up your Nol card in advance through ticket machines and in-person counters. Both cash and cards are accepted for these transactions.

Metro Operating Hours:

The Dubai Metro operates during the following hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 5 am to 12 midnight
  • Friday: 5 am to 1 am the next day
  • Saturday: 5 am to 12 midnight
  • Sunday: 8 am to 12 midnight

Convenient Parking at Dubai Mall Zabeel Extension:

If you choose to drive your car, parking at the Dubai Mall Zabeel Extension is recommended. From there, you can take advantage of free dedicated shuttle buses that provide pick-up and drop-off services at the Dubai Mall parking area. These shuttles will transport you to the Dubai World Trade Centre and back.

Efficient Parking and Metro Access:

Motorists can also consider parking at Business Bay, Al Barsha Traffic Department, and Burjuman Metro digital parking lots.

Metro only takes 18 minutes from these locations to reach Gitex. Additionally, you can book a parking spot in advance at digitalparking.city.

Taxis and Ride-Hailing Apps:

Dubai offers thousands of taxis daily, and ride-hailing apps like Careem and Uber make it convenient to book a cab. You can even use Careem or Uber apps from other countries to book a ride in Dubai.

Navigating Gitex Global is easier with these transportation options, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the latest technological innovations and startup breakthroughs. Enjoy the event and explore the future of technology at Gitex Global in Dubai.
