The Remarkable Journey of Dorra Elwafi: From Child Host to News Producer

Dorra Elwafi

Dorra Elwafi’s media journey began when she was just nine years old, hosting a children’s television program. She grew up in studios, driven by curiosity and a deep passion for storytelling, fuelled in part by her father, a sound engineer at Tunisia’s national TV. He often brought her and her sister to the vibrant world behind the camera, where the rhythm of live shows and buzzing energy captured her young imagination.

Growing Through Change

At eleven, Dorra experienced a moment that would steer her in a new direction. Some classmates teased her about hosting a show for younger children, making her wonder if it was still the right fit. Instead of seeing it as a setback, she took it as a chance to explore new interests. Stepping away from the program opened doors to fresh experiences, helping shape the confidence and adaptability she carries today.

A Return to Television Behind the Scenes

Twelve years later, Dorra returned to the same television channel but this time as a news producer rather than a presenter. Although it was not the role she once dreamed of, it marked a significant evolution in her career. Her early return behind the scenes taught her to adapt, persevere, and find meaning in unexpected opportunities.
