A Life-Changing Encounter with Miles Davis
For Taher Taher, known as Tي, a single image sparked a revolution in his life. While listening to Miles Davis’s Tutu album, he came across a photo of Davis’s hand on a trumpet. In the image, his middle finger bent inward while the rest of his hand was open, an alternate interpretation of which ignited a creative fire in Taher.
“That moment hit me like a freight train,” he shares. “It awakened something in me that hasn’t faded since.”
This profound moment set the stage for Taher’s journey, one rooted in his desire for freedom and self-expression.

Music: The Ultimate Freedom
Taher explored various forms of art, from cinema to writing, but none gave him the creative independence he craved. Music, however, provided a sense of liberation unlike anything else.
“I am a terminally creative person,” Taher says. “Music gives me the highest degree of freedom to express myself.”

This relentless pursuit of artistic freedom led him to a bold challenge: releasing one song every day for 365 days.

The 365-Day Challenge
The 365-day challenge became a defining chapter in Taher’s life. For nearly a year, he created and released music daily, a grueling yet transformative experience.
“It was like an ayahuasca trip,” he recalls. “I faced myself, my fans, and my music head-on. I’m grateful to have come out alive and relatively sane.”
This experiment not only tested his endurance but also solidified his unique voice in the music world, setting him apart from his peers.
From Ghostwriting to the Spotlight
Taher’s professional journey began in 2017 with a breakthrough moment—writing and featuring in the #1 movie theme song, El Erd Beyetkalem. Collaborating with renowned artists like Handy Mehana, Ahmad al Fishawy, and Fredwreck taught him invaluable lessons about humility and leadership.
The song’s success led to a historic performance on SNL Arabic, where the episode achieved the highest ratings in the show’s history. This achievement marked a turning point in Taher’s career, propelling him from a behind-the-scenes role as a ghostwriter to the spotlight as a vocal artist.

Finding His Voice
Taher’s music journey has been a continuous evolution of styles. Recently, he performed at a New Year’s Eve show, where he sampled various genres for a diverse audience.
“It was fascinating to see how different styles lit up different sections of the crowd,” he says. “Now, I’m torn between which style to pursue.”
His latest album, Red Mercury, featuring Big Mass, Wezza Montasser, Mr. Kordy, and Fishawy, is a testament to his artistic growth. Taher considers the album to be his rawest and most innovative contribution to the music world.
Lessons in Life and Art
Taher’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. He has faced countless problems, each teaching him valuable lessons. One of the most profound realizations was understanding the root causes of challenges.
“Many perceived problems are blessings in disguise,” he explains. “The key is to shift your perception and treat the root rather than the symptoms.”
Another lesson he holds dear is the importance of being outcome-independent.
“Don’t wait for others to materialize your dreams,” he advises. “Have no expectations—it’s better that way.”
Music as a Lifeline
For Taher, music is more than a career; it’s a lifeline. When he needs inspiration, he goes back to being a listener, immersing himself in the works of others.
“To write, you have to read,” he says. This philosophy keeps him connected to the essence of music and fuels his creativity.
Redefining Legacy
Taher’s perspective on success and legacy has evolved over time. Inspired by Mike Tyson’s take on legacy, he now focuses on happiness and well-being for himself and his family.
“So long as my family and I are happy and taken care of, that’s the best legacy,” he says.
A Vision for the Future
As he continues to explore new horizons in music, Taher remains committed to his core values of freedom, creativity, and authenticity. He hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams without fear or hesitation.
“I want to be remembered as someone who gave hope and inspiration to others,” he says.
A Star on the Rise
Taher Taher’s journey is a testament to the power of self-expression, resilience, and unyielding determination. From ghostwriting to creating groundbreaking music, he has proven that success is not just about talent but also about courage and perseverance.
As he looks ahead, Taher is poised to leave an indelible mark on the music world, inspiring others to find their voice and embrace their freedom.
