Establishing a Haven: The Sharifa Yateem Center for Rehabilitation
In 2018, Sharifa founded the Sharifa Yateem Center for Rehabilitation in Abu Dhabi, a pioneering institution dedicated to providing individualized support for individuals with autism. The center offers a range of programs, including early intervention, social skills training, and life skills development, all tailored to each client’s unique needs.
The center’s excellence was recognized in 2022 when it became the first in Abu Dhabi to earn the Certified Autism Center™ designation from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). This certification underscores the center’s commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based services.
Innovating for Inclusion: The Tokenat App
Understanding the importance of accessible tools for behavior management, Sharifa developed the Tokenat App. This digital platform assists parents, educators, and therapists in implementing token economies to encourage positive behaviors in children with autism. The app reflects Sharifa’s innovative approach to integrating technology into therapeutic practices.
