Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s security has significantly increased due to the actor reporting death threats, as reports in the Indian media.

Shah Rukh Khan recently wrote to the Maharashtra government, alerting them to the threats he had been receiving, particularly after the release of his films “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” The government swiftly responded by providing him with heightened security.

In an official communication to senior police officials and various departments, including the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Maharashtra government urged unit commanders to offer Y+ level security to Shah Rukh Khan, citing the recent and potential threats.

It has been noted that Shah Rukh Khan will bear the cost of the added security cover until a high-level committee decides in an upcoming meeting.

Purpose of Security:

The enhanced security is aimed at safeguarding Shah Rukh Khan during his visits, public engagements, and residence within the jurisdiction to prevent untoward incidents.

Previous Threats:

This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan has faced threats. Earlier this year, he received death threats from Paramhans Acharya, a seer based in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

Additionally, protests were held outside his residence, Mannat, against celebrities endorsing online gaming apps in August.

The Maharashtra government has previously bolstered security for actor Salman Khan after he received death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Upcoming Projects:

Despite security concerns, Shah Rukh Khan has had a successful year at the box office with the back-to-back blockbusters “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” His latest release, “Jawan,” has already grossed Rs 11,033 million worldwide.

Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming projects include Rajkumar Hirani’s “Dunki,” co-starring Taapsee Pannu. Before that, he will reprise his role as Pathaan in an extended cameo in Salman Khan starrer “Tiger 3.”
