In an extensive crackdown on residency, labor, and border security violations, Saudi Arabia has arrested a total of 17,976 individuals.
The arrests were made during joint field operations conducted across all country regions from November 23 to 29, as the state-run Saudi Press Agency reported.
Violations and Arrests Breakdown:
The arrests included individuals violating various regulations, with 10,881 illegal residents, 4,159 violators of border security regulations, and 2,936 who breached labor system rules.
Additionally, 700 people were apprehended while attempting to cross the border into the Kingdom, with 40% being Yemeni nationals, 56% Ethiopians, and 4% from other nationalities.
Continuing Crackdown Efforts:
The recent crackdown brings the total number of illegal expatriates subjected to procedures to over 51,000, resulting in the deportation of 9,343 individuals.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized the severe consequences for aiding violators, including imprisonment of up to 15 years or fines of up to 1 million riyals.
Public Cooperation Encouraged:
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior urged the public to report violations through designated hotlines, reinforcing the collaborative effort to maintain the country’s security.
Hotlines include 911 for Makkah Al Mukarramah, Riyadh, and Al Sharqiyah, and 999 and 996 for the rest of the Kingdom.
