Sara Aziz: Inspiring Psychologist Empowering Egypt’s Women & Children

Sara Aziz

Sara Aziz is a force to be reckoned with in Egypt’s social sector. As the Founder & CEO of Safe Egypt since 2012, she leads powerful efforts in child protection, women’s empowerment, and family well-being. Through Safe Egypt and its branches @safe_eg, @safe__nursery, and @safe.tools Sara runs workshops, counseling services, trainings, and creative programs aimed at preventing abuse, violence and empowering communities like parents, women, and teens.

Her organization supports children, families, teachers, and caregivers. Sara dreams of reshaping societal attitudes and building strong, emotionally healthy environments for future generations.

A Journey Rooted in Vision and Resilience

Years ago, she started by helping other survivors, while completing her psychotherapy training and specializing in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.

Combining her experience and professional skills, Sara has dedicated thousands of therapy hours to helping children, teens, and women overcome trauma. In founding Safe Egypt, she had a clear mission, aiming to create awareness, offer healing, and advocate for safer communities.

Beyond Healing: Empowering Families and Society

Sara’s vision goes beyond helping individuals. She believes that for a child to truly be safe, the entire family and community need to change too. That’s why she expanded Safe Egypt’s mission to include adults, corporates, and even club teams. Today, she leads workshops on healthy relationships, self-worth, emotional intelligence, and building supportive environments at home and work.

She is also known for her powerful talks and collaborations with government organizations, NGOs, and schools. Her work with Safe reflects a heartfelt commitment to protecting children, grounded in empathy and a sincere connection to the community.

A National Voice for Change

Sara’s dedication has earned her national recognition and important roles. She has received multiple awards and was honored among the top 50 most influential women in Egypt. In 2023, she was appointed to Egypt’s Supreme Committee for Assessing the Social and Psychological Impact of Drama in 2025. This role allows her to influence how sensitive topics like abuse and trauma are portrayed in the media.

She was also awarded the “40 Under 40” award in Dubai in 2024. On June 4, 2025, Egypt’s National Council for Women (NCW), led by President Amal Ammar, awarded Sara the prestigious Ta’a Marbouta honorary shield in recognition of her outstanding work in advancing women’s and children’s rights.

She also serves on Egypt’s National Council for Women’s youth committee and as a board member in the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood. Through these positions, Sara brings mental health, child safety, and women’s empowerment into national conversations and policies.

Innovative Tools and Creative Outreach

Sara Aziz understands that education and healing need to be engaging and approachable — especially for children and the adults who care for them. That’s why she created SAFE TOOLS: a collection of 11 books and interactive games designed to help parents, families, and caregivers have meaningful, age-appropriate conversations about safety, self-worth, and emotional well-being, including prevention from sexual abuse and bullying.

The collection includes tools like:

  • “Safeelings” – a game that helps children and families express emotions, build self-awareness, and strengthen communication
  • “The Elephant” – a journal that introduces the idea of the “elephant in the room” to encourage adults to talk about their mental health
  • “I Am Precious” – a book that empowers children and preteens to say no and stand up for themselves

Sara has also written other books and created more games focused on building emotional intelligence and helping children understand their rights. These tools make it easier for adults to educate and empower children in a way that feels natural, supportive, and fun — helping build a safer, more emotionally aware generation.

Exciting New Projects

Sara’s journey is far from over. She recently launched a new location for Safe Nursery under the Safe brand in New Cairo, designed to provide children with a nurturing environment from an early age. The nursery is dedicated to raising skillful children by promoting not only academic growth but also emotional and psychological development.

Overcoming Challenges

Sara has faced many obstacles on her journey. Talking about abuse, mental health, and emotional safety is difficult. She pushed forward, driven by her mission to protect children and support families. With strong support from her family, advisory board, and close friends, she stayed focused on her goals.

She believes that surrounding yourself with supportive people, staying focused, and ignoring negative voices are keys to success. Sara often reminds young women to define their own worth, trust their vision, and never let anyone silence them.

Inspiring Egypt and the World

Sara believes deeply in the importance of empowering women and protecting children and families. For her, real change doesn’t come only from laws and programs — it begins with a shift in mindset and everyday actions.

Believing in the impact we can create in Egypt and the region, Sara works across the country with a wide range of partners, including schools, universities, companies, and community groups. She is also building strong relationships with national parties such as the National Council for Women (NCW), the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS), and other key institutions to help drive meaningful, lasting change.

She continues to inspire women across Egypt and beyond, showing that it is possible to rise above painful experiences and create something meaningful that benefits others.

Why Sara’s Story Matters

Sara Aziz’s life is a true story that inspires — especially for a 23-year-old woman starting her own dream: Safe Office, Safe Nursery, Safe Tools, and now working toward her next dream, Safe School. She is a national influencer who proves that one person’s courage can drive meaningful change.

Today, she leads Safe Egypt in empowering children, teens, families, and communities. She creates innovative tools to teach emotional skills, advises on national media and policy, and most importantly, gives people hope.

Her story isn’t just about success — it’s about impact. By believing in change and in every child’s right to be empowered and educated on how to stay safe, Sara inspires others to speak up, heal, and build safer futures for the next generation.

What’s Next for Sara Aziz

Sara’s future looks even brighter. She plans to expand Safe Egypt’s services into rural areas, ensuring that all children, no matter where they live, have access to safety and emotional education. The nursery will continue to grow, creating a new generation of emotionally strong children. And with her next dream — Safe School — Sara aims to build a full educational model that empowers children from their earliest years all the way through their school journey.

She’s also planning to develop more interactive games and tools that help both kids and adults connect with their feelings. On the policy side, her influence in national committees is expected to push Egypt forward in mental health awareness and media responsibility.

Final Thoughts

Sara Aziz is more than a psychologist — she is a changemaker, educator, and protector. Her story reminds us that emotional safety and empowerment can transform entire communities. Through her work, she invites us all to support each other, create safe spaces, and raise a generation that is strong, open, and resilient.
