Abdallah Zaem’s journey into the real estate world began unexpectedly. After graduating from university, he found himself working as a junior sales employee, a role he accepted without much thought. Like many young graduates, Abdullah sought stability, believing that this job would provide him with the necessary experience while he waited for a better opportunity. Little did he know, this accidental entry into the real estate market would ignite a passion that would lead him to great heights.
Finding His Passion in Real Estate
Initially, Abdallah did not have a clear plan for his career. He entered the real estate sector almost by chance. However, as time went on, he discovered a growing passion for the field. “I realized that I didn’t want to settle for just being a sales employee,” he reflects. “My dream was much bigger.” After two years in the industry, he made a life-changing decision: to resign and start his own real estate company.
Leaving a stable job to pursue his dreams was a significant risk, especially since Abdullah was the sole provider for his wife and two children. Despite the challenges, he believed in his vision of establishing a real estate development company that could compete with the industry’s largest players in Marsa Matrouh and the North Coast. “This decision was fueled by my passion for real estate and my faith in my dream,” he explains.
A Milestone Project: Bahia
One of Abdallah’s proudest achievements to date is the Bahia project in Marsa Matrouh. This endeavor marked a turning point for his company, Sea Gate, showcasing both substantial construction scale and the caliber of clientele. “This project is a qualitative leap for the company,” he says, reflecting on how it has placed Sea Gate firmly on the real estate map of Marsa Matrouh.
The journey to this milestone was not without its hurdles. Abdallah faced skepticism from friends and family who viewed his decision to leave a secure job as a gamble. Moreover, he encountered significant challenges in recruiting skilled personnel in an area with limited job opportunities. “The workforce here lacked experience due to a scarcity of employment fields,” he notes.
To combat this, Abdallah focused on hiring promising talent and initiated an intensive four-month training program in collaboration with experts from Cairo. This commitment came at a personal cost, as he used his savings to fund the program while the company had no income. “It was a challenging time, but I believed it was necessary to start on the right foot,” he recalls.
Rising Demand and Future Aspirations
Now in the second phase of the Bahia project, Abdallah is thrilled by the overwhelming response from clients. The residential compound, which offers stunning views of the sea from three sides, is located in one of the most vibrant areas of Marsa Matrouh. His father, Hajj Suleiman Elzaem, has been his unwavering supporter throughout this journey, believing in his dream and providing essential encouragement.
Reflecting on his struggles, Abdallah acknowledges the importance of patience in achieving success. “Success requires patience; it’s essential to take your time,” he emphasizes. This perspective has allowed him to build a sustainable foundation for his business.
Abdallah views success as a journey intertwined with ambition. “With every important step I take, my ambitions grow,” he states. His current goal is to position Sea Gate among Egypt’s leading real estate developers and eventually expand to the Middle East. “Why not?” he asks with confidence.
Inspiring a New Generation
As he looks to the future, Abdallah hopes to be remembered by the youth of his region for opening new professional avenues that transcend the traditional perception of real estate. “I want to shift the mindset from viewing real estate merely as a ‘broker’ industry,” he explains. He aspires to be seen as a model of perseverance, ambition, and success.
