SIBF is gearing up for a highly anticipated panel discussion with Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef, dubbed "Egypt's Jon Stewart."

The Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) has a highly-anticipated session on the horizon: a panel discussion featuring Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef, often hailed as “Egypt’s Jon Stewart.” 

Youssef will grace the stage during an evening session held at the Expo Centre Sharjah’s ballroom at 8 pm. Following the event, he will autograph copies of his book, “The Magical Reality of Nadia.”

Viral Sensation with a Satirical Touch:

The former heart surgeon turned media personality, Bassem Youssef, recently achieved viral fame with his satirical take on the ongoing conflict in Gaza during an interview with American presenter Piers Morgan. 

The video garnered over 21 million views on YouTube, making it one of the most-watched episodes of Piers Morgan’s show, “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

Youssef used satire and dark humor to convey essential messages during the interview. He humorously remarked on the resilience of Palestinians, emphasizing their enduring spirit. 

Youssef’s satirical commentary, infused with personal anecdotes, provided a unique perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict.

A Second Round with Piers Morgan:

Following the immense popularity of their initial interview, Bassem Youssef and Piers Morgan engaged in a second round of discussions, this time face-to-face at a club in Los Angeles. 

This extended two-hour special interview, posted on YouTube, delves into a concise history of the Israel-Palestine conflict.

The announcement of Bassem Youssef’s participation at the Sharjah Book Authority’s event generated immense anticipation and excitement.

Youssef’s book series, “The Magical Reality of Nadia,” draws inspiration from his real-life experiences. 

The series follows the journey of sixth-grade Egyptian immigrant Nadia as she navigates friendships and encounters issues of racism when she moves to America.
