Indian expatriate Abdul Gafoor, who recently began working as a taxi driver in Sharjah, hit the jackpot by winning Dh100,000 in the Mahzooz draw.
Only seven months into his job and yet to receive a regular salary, Gafoor decided to purchase Mahzooz tickets every week.
His perseverance paid off last Saturday when he learned he was among the lucky winners.
A Life-Changing Win for Abdul:
Abdul Gafoor first heard about the Mahzooz draw from his roommates. Despite being in the early stages of his job and facing financial constraints, he managed to spare Dh35 each week to participate.
When he saw his name on the app as a winner, he was overwhelmed with joy. While he hasn’t shared the news with his wife, he plans to use the prize money to clear some of their financial liabilities.
Pratik and Sathiya Join the Winners’ Circle:
Two other Dh100,000 prize winners in the Mahzooz draw were Indian expats: 40-year-old Abu Dhabi resident Pratik and long-time UAE resident Sathiya.
Both had been regular participants in Mahzooz draws. Pratik and his wife intend to use their winnings for their children’s education, with a portion set aside for more Mahzooz tickets.
Sathiya, who had been participating since Mahzooz’s inception, plans to secure his child’s education with his prize.
