Here’s the Solution for Stolen or Damaged Licence Plates

Maintaining clear and legible licence plates is critical for drivers in Dubai, as failing to comply can result in significant penalties.

In Dubai, maintaining clear and legible license plates is crucial for drivers, as failure to comply can result in substantial penalties of up to Dh3,000 and 23 black points on their license.

But what happens if your license plate is stolen or damaged?

Dubai Police’s Lost Certificate Service:

Dubai Police offers a practical solution—a Lost Certificate service that covers not only lost license plates but also other vital documents like passports, Emirates IDs, and vehicle licenses.

Documentation Requirements:

For lost license plates, applicants need an Arabic letter from their company or institution detailing the loss. Additionally, they must provide their Emirates ID or passport details, including gender, date of birth, nationality, and email address.

Steps to Obtain a Lost Certificate:

  1. Application Form Submission: Complete the application form on the Dubai Police app, entering personal details and specifying the lost item’s category, date, time, and location.
  2. Service Fees: Pay the service fees, including Dh50 for the service, Dh20 for knowledge and innovation, and an extra Dh100 for in-person submissions at service centers. Payment can be made in cash or digitally by card.
  3. Request Submission: After payment, submit your request. You’ll receive a transaction number through SMS and email for tracking purposes.
  4. Certificate Issuance: Once processed, the lost certificate and receipt will be sent via email, valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.
