His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Development and Citizens Affairs, recently assessed the advancement of a housing initiative for citizens in Al Khawaneej 2. Emphasizing the importance of ensuring familial stability and enhancing citizens’ well-being, Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed the commitment of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, towards providing decent living conditions for Emirati families. He stated, “The housing programme for citizens is under my direct supervision, and we aim to establish unique residential communities designed to bring comfort and happiness to Emirati families.”
The project, currently at 47% completion, is set to conclude by December this year. It encompasses 1,050 diverse residential units, comprising 128 single villas, 410 duplex villas, and 512 townhouse villas. Additionally, it features a commercial and service center, pedestrian and cycling paths, playgrounds, a park, and a nursery. The development, situated in Al Khawaneej 2, prioritizes residents’ safety and convenience, boasting visually appealing entrances, shaded pathways adorned with trees, and various public amenities to enrich community life.
Upon his visit to the project site, Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by key officials, including His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Well-Being Pillar, and His Excellency Omar Bu Shehab, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. During the tour, Sheikh Hamdan examined three residential villa models, lauding their efficient use of space and seamless integration of interior and exterior layouts tailored to meet the needs of Emirati families.
Addressing the significance of the project, His Excellency Omar Bu Shehab highlighted its role in enhancing citizens’ well-being and creating an inclusive residential environment. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the leadership’s commitment to improving living standards and ensuring the comfort and safety of citizens for the next two decades.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment is actively working on five key housing projects, set to benefit over 2,200 Emirati families by 2025. These endeavors, including the Al Khawaneej 2 project, signify the leadership’s dedication to meeting the immediate and long-term housing needs of citizens. Moreover, in line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, the citizens’ housing strategy aims to sustainably address housing demands by diversifying residential unit options and upgrading living conditions in housing areas.
