Nour Alkhadra is not your typical filmmaker, nor is she a typical gamer. In fact, she never fits neatly into any single category and that’s exactly how she likes it. With roots in both the digital worlds of gaming and the emotional realm of cinema, Nour is blazing her own trail, uniting two industries that are often seen as separate.
I’ve always been drawn to building worlds, she says. Whether through the pixels of a game or the frames of a film, imagination is my power, and storytelling is how I share it.
Nour’s unique perspective comes from her refusal to choose between her passions. She began her creative path in gaming, but along the way, fell in love with film. Today, she moves seamlessly between both. While others may insist she pick one, Nour believes that the emotional depth of cinema and the logical challenge of gaming fuel her creativity in different, but equally essential, ways.

Founding WeGeek: From London to Jeddah
One of Nour Alkhadra’s proudest accomplishments is WeGeek, a platform she built from the ground up. The idea was simple but powerful: create a space for gamers, creatives, and nerd culture to come together and thrive. Starting anything from scratch is difficult, and starting it in a new country is even more so.
When I started WeGeek in London, it was tough. I had a vision, but nothing to show for it yet. Convincing people to believe in that vision wasn’t easy, Nour recalls. But I’ll always be grateful to those who supported me from the start.
Later, she made the bold move to bring WeGeek to Saudi Arabia, a culture rich in creativity but with a different social landscape for gaming and geek culture. It meant rebuilding again, this time facing fresh challenges and a new audience. But Nour was undeterred.
I knew this was something bigger than me, she says. Something worth fighting for.
Her hard work paid off. The first WeGeek event in Saudi was a massive milestone. It proved there was hunger for this kind of community, a place for people like Nour, who once felt like outsiders, to feel seen and celebrated.
A Breakthrough in Saudi’s Film Scene
As if launching a platform wasn’t enough, Nour was also quietly chasing another dream: acting. At the time, she didn’t know anyone in the Saudi film industry and was still based in London. But that didn’t stop her.
She honed her craft through acting classes, created her own content, and actively pursued casting opportunities. Her dedication and consistency paid off when she landed her first lead role in a series a breakthrough that marked the beginning of her rapidly rising acting career.
I’ve learned that persistence and commitment are everything, she says. If you keep showing up, doors will open, even if they don’t at first.
No Trophies Needed: Nour’s Version of Success
While her accomplishments speak volumes, from starring in films to building a multi-country community, Nour doesn’t measure success in awards or status. Her outlook is refreshingly grounded.
For me, it’s not about trophies or titles, she says. It’s about learning, evolving, and most importantly, moving forward without fear.
She’s had setbacks rejections, slow starts, roadblocks but none of it has stopped her. If anything, those challenges have only strengthened her. Rejection doesn’t mean you’re not good enough, she explains. It just means you were meant for something different. As long as you keep going, you’re still in the game.
A Creative Storm in Full Swing
Today, Nour is busier and more creatively fulfilled than ever. She just wrapped acting in a short film, is preparing for an upcoming feature film role, and continues building WeGeek’s presence in Saudi with more events already in motion.
But that’s not all. She’s writing two films: a short sci-fi project that she’ll be directing soon, and a full-length fantasy feature currently in development. Her short film has already received backing from both the Red Sea and Doha Film Fund, a huge accomplishment and clear signal of her rising impact in the region.
It’s all about time management and pacing myself, she says. I don’t want to burn out. I want to build something meaningful, piece by piece.
Creating a Space That Never Existed Before
At the heart of all her work, whether it’s film, gaming, or community-building, is the drive to create space for others. Nour doesn’t just want to succeed; she wants to uplift others who feel like they don’t belong.
I’d like to be remembered as someone who brought a different perspective to the film industry in my region, she says. And just as importantly, as a person who created a space where geeks and nerds like me could truly belong, a space I always wished existed.
Through WeGeek and her creative work, she’s doing just that. Her projects are breaking boundaries and expanding what’s possible in Saudi Arabia’s entertainment scene.
Looking Forward With Fearless Vision
If there’s one message Nour hopes people take from her journey, it’s that it’s okay to start small. What matters is that you start.
Hard moments pass, she says. Keep going.
Nour Alkhadra’s story is a reminder that you don’t need to fit into one box, and you don’t need to wait for permission. Whether you’re building a game, writing a film, or launching a community from scratch, the only way to succeed is to keep showing up.
And that’s exactly what Nour is doing showing up, dreaming big, and inspiring a new generation of creatives to do the same.
