Fog Blankets UAE, Prompts Weather Alerts in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

A dense fog blanketed several roadways in the UAE on a recent morning, primarily in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

On a recent morning in the UAE, thick fog covered several roads, mainly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, prompting weather authorities to issue red and yellow alerts for specific areas.

Fog Alerts Issued:

The National Centre of Meteorology acted swiftly by issuing a fog alert as early as 4 a.m., warning that these conditions would persist until 9 a.m.

Notable areas affected by the dense fog included Dubai’s Al Minhad, Al Maktoum International Airport, Al Lisali, and Abu Dhabi’s Al Ajban, Sweihan, and Seih Shuaib.

Safety Measures in Place:

Speed limits were reduced in specific areas of Abu Dhabi to ensure road safety. The local police urged drivers to stay vigilant and pay attention to information displayed on electronic boards.

For example, on the Trucks Road (Seih Shuaib – Al Faqa) and Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Kizad – Seih Alsedirah) in Abu Dhabi, motorists were advised to maintain a reduced speed of 80 kmph due to the foggy conditions.

Weather Forecast for the Day:

Besides the foggy morning conditions, the UAE can generally anticipate a fair to partly cloudy day. However, rain clouds can possibly form in the east during the afternoon, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Additionally, NCM forecasts light winds and expects humidity to increase at night. Temperature-wise, the day is expected to be warm, with some areas in Abu Dhabi reaching 40 degrees Celsius, while Dubai is expected to experience temperatures around 35 degrees.
