First NEET Medical Entrance Exam Centre in UAE Announced
In a significant development for Indian students in the UAE, the Indian High School (IHS) in Dubai has been selected as the first NEET medical entrance exam centre in the country for the year 2024. This announcement follows India’s National Testing Agency (NTA) designating three exam centres in the UAE for the NEET 2024 exam. While Dubai’s centre has been confirmed, news regarding the centres in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah is still awaited.
NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) serves as the primary entrance exam for undergraduate medical courses in India, conducted by NTA under the Ministry of Education. Candidates have until March 9 to register on the NEET 2024 official website.
Punit MK Vasu, CEO of The Indian High Group of Schools, expressed that the school has been chosen as a NEET centre for the fourth consecutive year, emphasizing the significance of offering such facilities to alleviate the challenges faced by students and their families, especially during the Covid period. Vasu highlighted the school’s commitment to public service initiatives by hosting major Indian entrance examinations such as CA and the ICAI foundation exams.
Moreover, the NTA announced flexibility for overseas students in selecting exam centres. Candidates who have already chosen centres in India but wish to switch to foreign cities can do so during the correction window after the registration closes, albeit with additional fees. For fresh registrations from foreign countries, candidates can directly select their preferred country and city during the application process.
The designation of the NEET exam centre at The Indian High School in Dubai underscores the school’s commitment to providing essential services to the Indian student community in the UAE, facilitating their academic pursuits and aspirations.
