In a recent development, the Civil Defence Authority in Abu Dhabi has issued a staggering 21,271 warnings to buildings across the emirate for non-compliance with fire safety regulations. 

The inspections, conducted between May and October of this year, covered a total of 10,753 residential and commercial structures, including entities in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.

Comprehensive Inspections Across the Emirate

The inspection efforts were extensive, encompassing 6,994 entities in Abu Dhabi city, 3,494 in Al Ain, and 265 in Al Dhafra. The Civil Defence Authority left no stone unturned in its mission to ensure the adherence of buildings to stringent fire safety standards.

Abu Dhabi City Takes the Lead in Non-Compliance Notices

Of the total warnings issued, Abu Dhabi city accounted for the majority, with 16,053 notices indicating non-compliance with fire safety requirements. 

This signals a significant area of concern, prompting the authorities to address and rectify fire safety shortcomings in the capital.

Regional Disparities: Al Ain and Al Dhafra Notices Breakdown

While Abu Dhabi took the lead in non-compliance notices, Al Ain and Al Dhafra were not exempt. Buildings in Al Ain received 4,212 notices, highlighting the need for improved fire safety measures in this region. Al Dhafra, with 1,006 notices, also saw a notable number of buildings falling short of the required safety standards.

The issuance of over 21,000 warnings underscores the commitment of Abu Dhabi’s Civil Defence Authority to prioritize public safety. It serves as a call to action for building owners and authorities alike to rectify fire safety deficiencies promptly.
