Expo City Dubai Sets Guinness World Record for Interactive Immersive Dome

Expo City Dubai set the Guinness World Record for the largest interactive, immersive dome, measuring 24,038 square metres, in Al Wasl Plaza.

Expo City Dubai has entered the Guinness World Records by creating the largest interactive, immersive dome at Al Wasl Plaza, covering 24,038 square meters.

This immersive experience allows visitors to interact with the dome through mobile devices, offering augmented reality (AR) experiences.

For instance, pointing a smart device at any spot on the 360-degree projection will generate a computer-generated flock of birds following the user.

The dome combines laser light projection and computer-generated content to provide sensory experiences, including visual and auditory elements.

New Dining Options and Cafe:

Alongside this record-breaking achievement, Expo City Dubai has introduced new dining options. The Al Wasl Plaza Café, serving Arabic fusion cuisine, is now open.

The café features a unique ambiance with 32,000 floral lights in the garden. Various food and beverage outlets will also be introduced, including plant-based cuisine and high-class dining.

The Dubai Calligraphy Biennale, in collaboration with the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, will occur from October 21 to 28.

Visitors can also look forward to artistic presentations by Japanese VR/NFT artist Aimi Sekiguchi and Emirati painter, photographer, and sculptor Mattar Bin Lahej. Sekiguchi will create paintings in the air, projected onto the Al Wasl Dome.

Bin Lahej, known for his calligraphy in the Museum of the Future, will produce a moving art piece displayed on the dome.

Upcoming Events and Festivals:

Expo City Dubai has a series of events, including the Artificial Intelligence Film Festival (AIFF) and Winter City, from December 8 to January 7, 2024.
