Expo City Dubai Hosts Vibrant Hai Ramadan Celebrations as Part of #RamadanInDubai Festivities
Expo City Dubai is bustling with the vibrant spirit of Ramadan as it hosts the Hai Ramadan festivities, enriching the #RamadanInDubai campaign with a plethora of cultural and traditional experiences, family-friendly activities, mouthwatering iftars and suhoors, and lively artisanal markets.
As a central feature of the Hai Ramadan celebrations, Expo City Dubai proudly presents the iconic Iftar Cannon, heralding the breaking of fast with a resounding shot each evening. For worshippers, a dedicated mosque located in the Sustainability District offers a serene space for prayers, including Isha, Taraweeh, and Tahajjud.
Al Wasl Plaza takes center stage during the Hai Ramadan celebrations, embodying the essence of the Arabic word ‘hai’ as both neighborhood and welcome. The Plaza sets the scene for enchanting cultural experiences, with immersive projections and captivating storytelling sessions, including the spellbinding Immersive Story Time with Al Wasl, where children gather to hear special tales narrated by Al Wasl herself.
Amna Abulhoul, Executive Creative Director of Entertainment & Experiences at Expo City Dubai, expressed the significance of the event, saying, “Expo City Dubai’s Hai Ramadan celebrates the traditions of the Holy Month and fosters a sense of community among people of all backgrounds.”
Young visitors are greeted by Expo City mascots Rashid and Latifa, who star in the theatrical show Quest to find the moon, while interactive workshops and games teach the values of Ramadan, such as kindness and compassion.
Expo City Dubai also offers a culinary journey, with a diverse array of iftars, suhoors, and Ramadan treats available at over 20 outlets and food carts across the site. From scenic iftars at the Surreal water feature to family-friendly iftars at the Oasis Food Hall, there’s something for everyone to savor.
The festivities extend beyond food, with lively souks and markets offering handmade crafts, traditional garments, and Ramadan-themed items. Families can also enjoy entertainment such as camel rides, falconry, arcade gaming experiences, and the exhilarating Monster inflatable obstacle course.
Hai Ramadan runs daily from 5:00 PM to midnight, with tickets available on platinumlist.com and at the venue. Many activities will continue throughout Eid Al Fitr, with special timings from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM during the festive period.
The #RamadanInDubai campaign, spearheaded by the Dubai Media Council under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to unite the public and private sectors in celebrating the Holy Month.
