The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) reported 916 companies violating Emiratisation requirements since mid-2022.
These violations involved efforts to bypass Emiratisation targets and create fictitious positions, resulting in the hiring of 1,411 UAE nationals.
Emiratisation Targets for 2023:
MoHRE urged private sector entities with 50 or more employees to achieve a 2 percent growth in hiring Emiratis for skilled roles by the end of December 2023. Companies were cautioned against evading Emiratisation targets or fabricating roles.
Penalties for Non-Compliance:
Starting January 2024, companies failing to meet annual Emiratisation targets will face fines. The penalties for not hiring Emiratis have increased annually, reaching Dh7,000 per month per Emirati not employed in 2023, potentially leading to an annual fine of Dh84,000 per unemployed citizen.
MoHRE emphasized the Nafis platform’s role in connecting companies with a pool of qualified UAE citizens for job vacancies.
Over 18,000 companies contributed to an increase in Emiratis in the private sector, totaling 88,000 individuals employed across various roles.
Incentives for Compliance:
Companies joining the Emiratisation Partners Club receive substantial reductions in MoHRE service fees, prioritized status in government procurement, and access to Nafis program benefits for companies and individuals.
