Emirates Health Services Welcomes 10,414 Newborns in 2023 Across Four Emirates

In a significant announcement, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has disclosed that a total of 10,414 newborns, encompassing both male and female infants, were delivered across its affiliated hospitals in Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah throughout the year 2023.

EHS highlighted that out of the total, 6,714 cases involved natural childbirths, as reported by its obstetrics and gynecology departments, which include prominent healthcare facilities such as Al Qassimi Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Umm Al Quwain Hospital, Abdullah bin Omran Hospital for Obstetrics and Gynecology, Al Dhaid Hospital, Fujairah Hospital, Dibba Hospital, Kalba Hospital, and Khorfakkan Hospital. This notable achievement is attributed to EHS’s adoption of advanced procedures and standards aimed at bolstering women’s and children’s health, including the utilization of comprehensive clinical data for pregnancy stages and newborn care within the electronic health record system and the implementation of a fetal vital sign monitoring system.

Moreover, EHS reiterated its dedication to optimizing the issuance process of birth and death certificates, leveraging digital systems to expedite procedures, enhance user experience, and elevate customer satisfaction levels.

Additionally, Emirates Health Services underscored its commitment to leveraging cutting-edge advancements and innovations in preterm and newborn care, coupled with the development of innovative and sustainable solutions to address pertinent challenges faced by this demographic.
