Organizers of COP28 at Expo City in Dubai are urging attendees to utilize public transportation throughout the two-week conference. Highlighting the efficiency and eco-friendliness of the Dubai Metro, they emphasize it as a quicker and more sustainable mode of travel to access and depart from the event site.

Road Adjustments and Security Protocols

To facilitate the smooth flow of the conference, certain roads near Expo City will be closed for the initial three days of COP28. These closures are attributed to heightened security protocols put in place by the organizers. 

Additionally, attendees should anticipate potential last-minute changes in road access or closures during the event, ensuring a proactive approach to security and logistical adjustments.

Enhanced Metro Accessibility

The Dubai Metro’s Red Line, offering direct access to Expo City, connects Dubai International Airport with major hotels across the city. 

As part of the traffic plan for the event, the Roads and Transport Authority has extended the operational hours of the Dubai Metro by an extra hour. With services now running from 5 am to 1 am, attendees can conveniently commute between the conference site, hotels, and the airport, fostering ease of movement throughout the event.

Promoting Sustainable Mobility
