Dubai’s RTA Launches Charitable Ramadan Activities to Help Thousands

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a series of charitable activities for Ramadan, aimed at helping those in need. These initiatives reflect the spirit of giving during the holy month and will benefit thousands of residents across the city. The RTA has partnered with various organizations, volunteers, and sponsors to maximize the impact of these initiatives, ensuring they reach as many people as possible.

Free Iftar Meals for Public Transport Users

One of the key initiatives is the distribution of free Iftar meals to public transport users, including taxi drivers, delivery riders, and bus passengers. Many of these individuals work long hours and may not have time to reach home in time for Iftar. To help them, RTA has set up special distribution points across metro stations, bus stops, and taxi ranks. This effort ensures that those who are on the move during Iftar time can break their fast conveniently with nutritious meals.

The meals consist of essential food items such as dates, water, juices, and traditional Ramadan dishes to provide a wholesome meal. Volunteers and RTA staff will actively participate in the distribution, ensuring a smooth process while also spreading warmth and kindness to those receiving the meals.

Special Gifts for Labourers

RTA is also extending its generosity to labourers who work tirelessly in Dubai’s construction, transportation, and other sectors. Many of these workers are far from their families and struggle to make ends meet. To support them during Ramadan, the authority will distribute essential Ramadan packages, including food items, hygiene kits, and clothing, to workers in labor accommodations.

This initiative recognizes their contributions to the city’s development and ensures they have the necessities to observe Ramadan with dignity. The packages contain staple food items like rice, lentils, cooking oil, and canned goods to help them prepare meals throughout the month. Hygiene kits include essentials such as soap, toothpaste, and masks to promote health and cleanliness.

Fundraising for a Greater Cause

In collaboration with charities and corporate partners, RTA is also running fundraising campaigns to collect donations for various social causes. These funds will be used to support initiatives such as providing meals to the underprivileged, offering healthcare support, and supplying educational resources for children from low-income families.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to contribute, making it a community-wide effort. Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference. The fundraising campaigns are being conducted both online and offline, allowing people to donate through official RTA platforms, partner charity organizations, and designated collection centers.

Encouraging Acts of Kindness

RTA is not only leading by example but also promoting a culture of generosity by encouraging employees and volunteers to take part in these initiatives. Many staff members have stepped forward to actively participate in meal distribution, donation drives, and community support programs. Their involvement strengthens the values of compassion, unity, and social responsibility within the organization and beyond.

In addition to the main initiatives, RTA is also collaborating with community groups to organize awareness campaigns on the importance of kindness, charity, and sustainability during Ramadan. These campaigns include social media challenges, workshops, and talks by inspirational figures to encourage people to engage in acts of kindness, whether through donations, volunteering, or simply helping those in need.

A Message of Giving and Unity

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, emphasized the importance of these initiatives. He stated that Ramadan is a time for kindness and generosity, and these activities reflect Dubai’s commitment to helping those in need. He further highlighted that the RTA’s efforts align with the UAE’s vision of making the country a global leader in humanitarian work and community welfare.

“These initiatives are part of RTA’s corporate social responsibility, reinforcing our role in supporting the community and ensuring that Dubai remains a city of compassion and generosity,” he added.

How to Participate

Residents who wish to contribute to these noble efforts can do so by donating through official RTA channels or partnering charities. Those who want to volunteer can join the efforts by assisting in meal distributions, packing donation boxes, and participating in fundraising events.

Additionally, businesses and corporate entities looking to give back can sponsor specific initiatives, donate in bulk, or organize their own charity events in collaboration with RTA. Such partnerships help expand the reach and impact of these Ramadan activities, ensuring that more people in need receive assistance.

With these impactful initiatives, RTA continues to support the community and spread the true essence of Ramadan: giving, unity, and care for others. By working together as a community, Dubai is setting an example of how generosity can make a significant difference in the lives of thousands, reinforcing its status as a city that values kindness and social welfare.
