Dubai’s Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, celebrated the winners of the App Olympics, recognizing innovative ideas that propel the city’s digital ecosystem forward. Emudy, The Intern, Bareeq, and Takeem were among the recipients of accolades at a ceremony held at the Museum of the Future. The event showcased Dubai’s commitment to fostering technological innovation and attracting global talent to the digital sector.

At the heart of the initiative is the ‘Create Apps in Dubai’ campaign, launched in 2023 to bolster the city’s standing as a global technology hub. With over 1,100 submissions from around the world, the App Olympics attracted widespread international interest, with participants from 64 countries contributing their ideas. The program, overseen by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, underscores Dubai’s dedication to nurturing a thriving digital ecosystem and fostering collaboration between government entities, tech companies, and innovators.

The winners, selected across four categories, received prizes worth US$150,000 each, along with support for launching their startup ventures. The event highlights Dubai’s determination to lead the way in smart application development, with initiatives aimed at expanding the pool of app developers, promoting digital literacy, and fostering entrepreneurship. As Dubai continues to invest in its digital future, the App Olympics serves as a testament to the city’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the digital domain.
