Dubai witnessed over 52% Surge in Golden Visas

Dubai has witnessed a remarkable surge in the issuance of Golden Visas during the first half of the current year, marking a 52% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.

The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai revealed these statistics, highlighting the growing appeal of long-term residency options in the emirate.

The Golden Visa Program:

The Golden Visa program, introduced in 2019, offers long-term residency to expatriates, enabling them to live, work, or study in the UAE for up to 10 years.

This initiative aims to attract diverse individuals, including investors, entrepreneurs, scholars, specialists, outstanding students, and frontline heroes, among others, to contribute to the country’s development.

As of November 2022, Dubai had already issued more than 150,000 Golden Visas to eligible residents, investors, professionals, and qualified candidates.

This program’s success underscores Dubai’s attractiveness as a long-term residence and investment destination.

Upcoming International Conference on Policymaking:

The announcement regarding the surge in Golden Visas issuance coincided with the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) unveiling details about the upcoming “International Conference on Policymaking: The Future of Ports” during a press conference.

This conference reflects Dubai’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and sharing insights on crucial policy matters.

Rising Residency and Tourist Visas:

In addition to the Golden Visas, Dubai has experienced significant residency and tourist visa growth.

The GDRFA reported a 63% increase in residency visas and a 21% increase in tourist visas from January to June.

This surge is attributed to foreign nationals seeking new opportunities and tourists attracted to the UAE.

Growth in Population:

Dubai’s population has demonstrated substantial growth in the post-pandemic era, attracting foreign investors and professionals due to its successful handling of the pandemic and hosting of Expo 2020.

Since January 2023, the emirate’s population has increased by more than 72,700 individuals, reaching a total of 3.623 million, compared to 3.550 million at the beginning of the year. This population growth reaffirms Dubai’s dynamic and thriving global hub status.
