The Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has announced a significant expansion of its taxi fleet at Dubai Airports, doubling its capacity with the addition of 350 new environmentally friendly taxis. This move aims to meet the growing demand for transportation services due to the increasing influx of passengers and visitors, as well as the numerous international events hosted in the emirate.
The airport taxi service, exclusively designated for arrivals at Dubai Airports and Port Rashid, operates round-the-clock, providing passengers with seamless transportation to any destination within the UAE. With the addition of these new taxis, DTC now boasts one of the largest fleets in the region, totaling 5,566 vehicles and capturing a remarkable 45% market share in the taxi sector.
Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, emphasized that doubling the fleet of airport taxis to 700 is a strategic move aimed at enhancing taxi services at the airport and increasing trips by 30%, thereby reducing waiting times and providing quicker services to passengers. This expansion aligns with Dubai’s commitment to continuously improving its services and catering to the growing demand for taxis amidst increasing passenger traffic.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency, highlighted the decision to equip DTC as the exclusive airport taxi service provider with an additional 350 vehicle plates in response to the rapid growth of Dubai International Airport, expecting to reach approximately 88 million passengers in 2024. This initiative reflects RTA’s dedication to providing high-level transport services that meet international standards and cater to the needs of passengers arriving at Dubai Airports.
