Dubai Social Agenda 33: A Step Towards Enhanced Citizen Welfare

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Approves Transformative Welfare Projects in Dubai for 2024
Unveiling a Brighter Future with Dubai Social Agenda 33

In a landmark decision, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a series of transformative projects for the year 2024, under the umbrella of Dubai Social Agenda 33. The initiative, inspired by the theme ‘Family: The Foundation of Our Nation’, marks a significant step in strengthening the social fabric and enhancing the welfare of the citizens in Dubai.

A Glimpse into the Projects

Most importantly, the approved projects under this agenda include the allocation of 3,500 plots of land and 2,300 ready-to-move-in houses across Dubai, valued at AED 5.5 billion. This move is a reflection of His Highness’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare and wellbeing of Emirati families. Therefore, in line with this vision, a new area designated for the housing project has been named ‘Latifa City’, in tribute to Sheikh Mohammed’s mother, Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Emphasis on Family and Social Stability

Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed that the ultimate goal of all government initiatives is to prioritize citizens, their families, and social stability. He emphasized that Dubai’s continued success is a result of prioritizing public welfare and leveraging resources to create optimal conditions for work and creativity. Besides that, the initiatives are expected to further social cohesion in the emirate, enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.

Aligning with Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan

The initiative is closely aligned with the objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. This comprehensive plan aims to establish Dubai as a global model for sustainable development, focusing on empowering communities and ensuring family stability. His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for the Infrastructure, Urban Planning, and Wellbeing Pillar, and other officials have expressed their commitment to this vision, aiming to enhance the happiness and well-being of citizens and upcoming generations.

The Broader Impact

The Dubai Social Agenda 33, launched earlier this month with a budget of AED 208 billion, aims to double the number of Emirati families in the emirate within a decade. This agenda is a testament to Dubai’s commitment to improving housing standards, healthcare, and overall quality of life for its citizens. The projects, therefore, are not just about building houses, but about creating a sustainable, happy, and cohesive society.
