Hassle-Free Travel Into 2026
Dubai is all set to welcome 2026, and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is ensuring everyone can enjoy the celebrations without worrying about traffic or parking. The Dubai Metro will operate nonstop for over 43 hours, giving residents and visitors a seamless transport option to navigate the city’s festivities.
Starting at 5am on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the Metro will continue running until 11:59pm on Thursday, January 1, 2026. This extended service ensures easy travel between popular celebration spots, including Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, and Global Village.
The Dubai Tram will also extend its hours, operating from 6am on December 31 until 1am on Friday, January 2. This provides additional convenience for those heading to JBR and other high-traffic areas.
More Parking, More Convenience
Parking around Downtown Dubai has been expanded to accommodate the New Year crowds, with around 20,000 spaces available near Burj Khalifa.
Metro users will also benefit from additional parking at stations, with 8,000 more spaces provided, along with overflow options at locations such as Al Wasl Club and Al Kifaf. These measures ensure that whether you drive or use public transport, your journey remains stress-free.
Reinforced Taxi and Bus Services
To keep the city moving smoothly, more than 14,000 taxis and over 18,000 limousine and luxury vehicles will be available. Additionally, more than 1,300 buses will operate across the city, giving commuters plenty of options to reach celebration spots without hassle.

Key Road Closures to Plan Ahead
Drivers heading to Downtown Dubai should plan in advance, as the RTA has scheduled road closures starting from 4pm on New Year’s Eve. These closures are designed to manage traffic efficiently and ensure pedestrian safety near major celebration areas.
Smart Planning for Smooth Journeys
The RTA has deployed road signs and intelligent transport systems to guide drivers and commuters to available parking, bus pick-up points, and detour routes. These tools make it easier to enjoy the festivities without worrying about navigation or delays.
With 48 fireworks and drone shows scheduled across 36 locations in Dubai, it’s the perfect opportunity to make the most of the celebrations. Hop on the Metro, take advantage of the extended services, and welcome 2026 in style.
