Dubai International Airport Geared Up for Festive Travel Rush

Between December 15 and 31, DXB is scheduled to receive around 4.4 million passengers, with an average daily traffic of 258,000.

Dubai Airports has announced that Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s largest and most connected international airport, is well-prepared for the upcoming holiday season. 

DXB is expected to welcome around 4.4 million passengers between December 15 and 31, with an average daily traffic of 258,000.

Busiest Day and Arrival Surge:

Friday, December 22, is projected to be the busiest day at DXB, with an estimated 279,000 passengers. 

Anticipating a surge in arrivals during the last two weekends of the year, DXB is preparing to host half a million passengers, primarily from point-to-point traffic, over six days from December 22 to 24 and December 29 to 31.

Festive Offerings and Activities:

Across Terminals 1, 2, and 3, DXB will provide a festive atmosphere with various activities. Passengers can enjoy a 3D photo opportunity inside a giant snow globe, encounter festive performers distributing chocolates and gifts, and have a chance to meet Santa and his elves, receiving special presents.

Winter Tourism Boost:

Dubai’s popularity as a winter destination contributes to the surge in arrivals. DXB recently attracted new airlines and increased flights, aiming to connect more visitors to Dubai and various cities worldwide. 

The airport is committed to ensuring a cheerful, bright, festive travel experience, backed by a state-of-the-art airport operations control center and dedicated teams across DXB.

Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports, expressed the airport’s readiness for the travel peak. 

He mentioned the commitment to creating a magical and memorable experience for passengers during the festive season, emphasizing the collaboration with partners to enhance the holiday travel journey at DXB.
