Unlock Ramadan’s Power: Dr. Mona Gamal’s Secrets to Empowering Women

Dr. Mona Gamal

Ramadan provides a unique opportunity to balance our energies, with fasting serving as a method to recharge our souls. This insight comes from life coach and energy consultant Dr. Mona Gamal, who offers valuable advice for women to turn this month into a time of “recharging their goals in all areas of life,” especially as “Ramadan is a month full of feminine energy.”

In our conversation with Dr. Mona Gamal, she shares insights on how to tap into the energies of the holy month and offers practical tips on renewing the energy in our homes. She also highlights the essential rituals to observe during Ramadan, emphasizing that “wasting food or throwing it away is a form of energy depletion that leads to poverty.”

The Energies of Ramadan

How can we benefit from the energies of Ramadan?

Dr. Mona Gamal explains that “Ramadan is a month with a strong feminine energy that focuses on the spiritual and intangible aspects of life. It is a time for recharging the energies of peace and inner calm that we need for the rest of the year. This month carries pure energetic frequencies that allow us to recharge our goals, our souls, and even our homes.”

Dr. Mona Gamal adds that Ramadan is an ideal time for those seeking to balance their energies, noting that doctors recommend fasting as a way to heal and improve health, as it boosts cellular health. “Fasting is not just about hunger and thirst; it is a means to recharge the soul and mind. We should engage in our spiritual practices with awareness, not just as rituals, to benefit from them to the fullest and recharge our goals in all areas of life.”

Renewing the Energy in Your Home During Ramadan

How can we renew the energy of our homes in Ramadan?

Dr. Mona Gamal suggests that we can draw inspiration from Ramadan decor to create a spiritually enriching environment. “One of the most inspiring places is the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which features a high spiritual energy due to its Islamic geometric designs and its inspiring plant-based decorations.”

Dr. Mona Gamal continues, “Architects have long studied the shapes that help preserve and increase positive energy in places of worship. They found that arches and domes are the most effective shapes in maintaining positive energy and dispelling negative energy. You can incorporate these elements into the design of your home’s entrances, doors, and corridors by decorating them with arches or domes.”

There are several other ways to enhance the energy in your home during Ramadan:

  1. Cleanliness: Keeping your home clean is one of the best ways to welcome positive energies.
  2. Fix Broken Items: Repair anything that is broken and donate unused items to those in need, which increases your blessings.
  3. Water Plants: Take care of your plants and remove any dried or withered ones, as they can drain energy.
  4. Soothing Sounds: Listening to the Quran’s calming frequencies, along with dhikr (remembrance of God) and Ramadan songs, will help foster a joyful Ramadan atmosphere.
  5. Ramadan Decorations: Involve the family in making and placing decorations at the doors, entrances, and windows.
  6. Designate a Prayer Space: Create a simple, special prayer corner in your home.
  7. Color Choices: Red is a powerful color that attracts positive energy, but it should be used cautiously. Combine it with green, white, and some blue, like the popular Ramadan decorations (kheymeya patterns).

Ramadan Rituals that Bring Positive Energy

Dr. Mona Gamal emphasizes that Ramadan is a time for family gatherings, especially around Iftar (the breaking of the fast). “Invite family and friends over. The energy of love and friendship infuses the home with warmth and positivity.”

She adds, “Preparing meals with positive emotions helps to increase their nutritional value. When the food is made with love and happiness, it becomes a more wholesome and nutritious meal, unlike food made when the cook is upset. From an energy perspective, food made with pure intentions and positive emotions will taste better and have more benefits.”

One of the most powerful rituals during Ramadan is to:

  • Pray and reflect on the meanings of the Quran, drawing on the energies of forgiveness and compassion to prepare for the spiritual benefits of Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), when God’s blessings are abundant.
  • Socializing in moderation: It’s important to balance social interactions with moments of solitude and reflection. Ramadan’s spirituality requires inner peace, which is cultivated through quiet reflection and a calm mind.
  • Setting intentions and goals: Use this time to develop your personal growth and spiritual goals for the coming year. Stay focused on your intentions and avoid distractions.
  • Watch spiritual programs: Follow programs that align with your spiritual goals and avoid those that lead you away from your intentions.

The Negative Energy of Wasting Food

Dr. Mona Gamal warns against turning Ramadan into a month of overindulgence. “The society around us is programmed to stock up on food, filling fridges with multiple dishes and sweets. Consuming all this food in a short period blocks the flow of spiritual energy in the body. A conscious person will eat a date and drink water or milk, then pray before having a balanced meal. Overeating prevents you from connecting with the spiritual energy during prayer, making it a mere physical act devoid of the spiritual connection.”

Dr. Mona Jamal further advises that wasting food or throwing away leftovers is a form of energy depletion that leads to poverty. “We should practice moderation in food preparation and consumption.”

Maximizing the Benefits of Ramadan’s Energy

Dr. Mona Gamal also highlights the importance of spiritual practices such as:

  1. Reading the Quran and reciting dhikr: Reflecting on the verses and letters of the Quran is known to reprogram the cells in our body. Scientists have discovered that the frequencies of the Quran help restore the body’s health. That’s why it’s no coincidence that the Quran was revealed during Ramadan.
  2. Prayer: Prayer combines all forms of meditation, focusing the mind and allowing energy centers in the body to receive spiritual energy. Praying in congregation during Ramadan, especially Taraweeh prayers, significantly enhances the flow of energy to each individual.
  3. Forgiveness: To receive positive energy, it is essential to keep your energy field clean, free from negative thoughts and emotions. Dr. Jamal encourages practicing forgiveness through meditation, aligning with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who said, “O Allah, You are Forgiving, You love forgiveness, so forgive us.”

Dr. Mona Gamal concludes by advising that breaking the fast with dates is a simple way to cleanse your energy field, and consuming lighter foods instead of heavy proteins will allow energy to flow more easily.

Through continuous training on divine names, especially “Peace,” we can align ourselves with the energy of inner peace, which is especially potent during Laylat al-Qadr.

In addition, Dr. Mona Gamal encourages enhancing emotional communication as a vital aspect of maintaining mental health, especially in the face of life’s pressures. Her strategies provide us with valuable tools for connecting with our emotions and improving the quality of our lives emotionally and socially.
