A security convoy in southern Pakistan was attacked on Friday, resulting in a devastating loss of lives, according to an official statement.
Saeed Ahmad Umrani, a senior government official in Balochistan province, confirmed the attack and mentioned that their teams would gather more details.
Tragic Casualties:

An anonymous military official, speaking to AFP, revealed that the attack had resulted in the loss of 14 troops. Shocking images from the scene, seen by AFP, depicted burned bodies strewn across the road.
The attack occurred near the Balochistan fishing town of Pasni on a highway along the coastline, extending from the Iranian border to the bustling city of Karachi.
Ongoing Balochistan Insurgency:
Balochistan has been grappling with a prolonged insurgency led by ethnic Baloch guerrillas.
The insurgency stems from grievances against the government for allegedly exploiting the province’s abundant gas and mineral resources.
Baloch people have voiced concerns over the unequal distribution of profits from these resources, leading to the emergence of several separatist groups.
Separate Bomb Blast Targets Police Van:
On the same day, a separate incident in northwestern Pakistan resulted in a bomb blast targeting a police van. This attack claimed the lives of five civilians and left 21 individuals injured.
The incident occurred in Dera Ismail Khan, a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, situated near the Afghan border, where militant activities have surged in recent months.
