Cyclone Tej in the Arabian Sea is expected to weaken gradually, becoming a tropical storm and then a depression.

Cyclone Tej in the Arabian Sea is anticipated to gradually weaken, transitioning into a tropical storm and eventually a depression, according to the UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Current Cyclone Status:

As of the latest update, Cyclone Tej is classified as a category 2 cyclone, with wind speeds reaching up to 165kmph. Over the next 24 hours, it will weaken further, becoming a tropical depression.

Although the cyclone’s direct impact on the UAE is limited, rain forecasts exist. The NCM has predicted lightning, thunder, rainfall, and even hail in certain areas on both Wednesday and Friday.

Five-Day Weather Forecast:

The NCM’s five-day weather forecast anticipates rainfall in various parts of the country until Friday, October 27.

In light of the weather conditions, the NCM issued an advisory urging residents to exercise caution and avoid areas susceptible to flash floods.

The NCM also shared videos demonstrating the impact of heavy rains and hail in areas like Ras Al Khaimah and Khor Fakkan, showcasing flooded valleys.
