Children Traveling Alone on Dubai’s Public Transport: RTA Guidelines

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has established clear rules regarding unaccompanied minors using public transport like the metro and buses. These guidelines ensure the safety and convenience of young passengers:

  • Children Below 8 Years: Recommended to travel with adults.
  • Children Aged 8-11: Can travel alone but should have a permission slip from parents.
  • Children 12 Years and Above: Can travel alone without adult supervision.

Additionally, the RTA offers a student Nol card for reduced fares, making public transport a cost-effective option for students.
