Dr Ahmed Sultan Al Shoaibi, acting executive director of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek), hinted at the possibility of increasing seats in response to rising demand.

Comprehensive Admission Process and Criteria:

The admission process for the ETS program is thorough, assessing candidates based on qualifications, language proficiency, and academic performance.

A prerequisite includes a four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields, with a cutoff of a CGPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent.

Candidates with less than one year of experience must clear aptitude tests such as GATE or GRE. Proficiency in English is also mandatory.

Curriculum and Specializations:

The two-year master’s program spans four semesters, offering specializations in ‘Technologies for Decarbonisation’ and ‘Economics, Policy, and Planning for Energy Transition’.

The curriculum encompasses core subjects like energy systems, the economics of energy transition, and foundational engineering courses, followed by industry internships and individual projects aligned with chosen specializations.

Campus Facilities, Amenities, and Faculty:

Initially housed in a temporary campus adjacent to Zayed University, IIT-Delhi Abu Dhabi plans to expand to a permanent facility.

The campus will feature specialized research centers focusing on sustainable energy and other critical domains. Accommodation facilities will be provided, and faculty from IIT Delhi will initially facilitate the program.

Career Prospects and Impact:

The master’s program aims to equip graduates with advanced skills aligned with the evolving job market, particularly in clean energy technology and engineering, EPC, and related sectors.

Graduates are primed to make a positive impact in NGOs, think tanks, policy advocacy, startup ventures, and innovative energy solutions, contributing to sustainable economic development.
