Dr. Norran Hussein’s medical journey began in 1999 as a radiology resident at Cairo University. In a department dominated by nine male colleagues, she stood out as the sole female resident. Through perseverance and dedication, she was appointed head resident, laying the foundation for her future leadership roles.
Her passion for women’s health led her to specialize in breast imaging, recognizing the critical importance of early detection in breast cancer outcomes. Over the years, she has reported on more than 85,000 mammograms, becoming a trusted name in diagnostic imaging.
Leading Breast Radiology in Egypt
Dr. Hussein’s expertise and commitment earned her the position of Chief Breast Radiologist for Egypt’s Ministry of Health. In this role, she played a pivotal part in national breast cancer screening programs, advocating for early detection and improved patient care. Her leadership extended to private practice, where she became a sought-after consultant, known for her patient-centric approach.
Embracing New Challenges in Dubai
In her pursuit of broader impact, Dr. Hussein recently transitioned to Dubai, taking on the role of Division Chief of Breast Radiology at Al Zahra Hospital. This move reflects her desire to reach more women across the Arab world, bringing her expertise to a new demographic and continuing her mission of early breast cancer detection.
“I always like to pursue new challenges and want to reach more women all over the Arab world,” she shares, highlighting her unwavering commitment to women’s health.
